Our Philadelphia office participated in PARK(ing) Day 2015. We transformed our space into a temporary Architecture Demarest park for the day. To do that, we created an easily assembled modular component that would make a bold architectural statement. The shapes in the trusses echoed a softer, more organic environment (think trees). The graphics told how and why the event started, with just a touch of our story thrown in as well. We even used plants that are commonly found in the area to green up our space. Oh, and just in case you are wondering, the lemonade was delicious!
The annual event started back in 2005 in San Francisco, CA as a way to bring attention to the need for more urban open space. This year marks Philadelphia’s eighth year to take part in the worldwide phenomenon! For more information, check out PARK(ing) Day (Philadelphia) or PARK(ing) Day.
