Architecture Demarest acted as Design Architect (Carter+Burgess now Jacobs was Architect of Record) to create this efficient freshman housing facility. Using both double- and triple-suite configuration, Ornelas Residence Hall reahes up to five stories tall and includes a multi-purpose/theater space, a dedicated study lounge, laundry facilities, visitor lounges and a residence hall director apartment. The 268-bed facility is located in a heavily wooded area, and is directly connected to exisitng campus walkways. The architectural language relies on fenestration and materials intrinsic to the surrounding campus.
